Surf-Direct

If computers and the Internet are a mystery to you and you keep your distance, this is the perfect pain-free introduction. Not only does it take you through the basics, it's also been designed to show you that computers can be fun as well. You'll begin with an explanation of how to use the CD-ROM. Then it's on to mastering the mouse, ending by using your skills to guide a computer character through a Mouse Maze where it's up to you to provide your character with the key to set him free. The course gives you plenty of opportunites to practice what you are learning and provides clear and simple explanations of everything you need to know about computers at this level.

Web-Wise

This course, which is free and aimed at beginners, will help you to get a grip with the internet and e-mail. First of all, you'll learn all about the internet and it's uses and history. Then, you'll learn how to connect to the internet, and how to join online communities such as newsgroups and chat rooms. You can also use interactive taster sessions which will help you get a grip with the internet.

Scaredycats

Computers for Scaredycats is a FREE course which helps computer beginners develop a good understanding of Information Technology. This course starts on Friday 21st February and every other Friday thereafter (9:30 - 12:30).

Introduction to the Internet

Introduction to the Internet is a free tutor-led course wihch helps beginners get on to the internet. This course runs every 2nd Friday from 9:30 - 12:30 which is three hours of tuition and after that, you get 3 FREE hours of internet access. To join this course, you will need some basic keyboard and mouse skills.

KAZ

KAZ (Keyboard A-Z is an accelerated touch typing method, which is based on 11 words in just five phrases covering the A-Z keys. On average, it takes just 90 minutes to perfect this skill, whereas conventional methods can take anything from 10 - 15 hours!
